    For Larkin Sushi pocket square!

    I made Larkin a doll. It was one of the most enjoyable things I've done in a long while!
    I'd probably make another right away, but my fingers are raw from all the tiny stitching of hems, etc.
    Anyway, it's good to finally make something. Plus, she'll look really cute sitting on the doll bed L's getting on Christmas morning.

    everybody else is doing it
     maybe not the "best" but definitely my top random number of albums of the decade, in no order
    1. REAL GONE, Tom Waits 2004
    fuckin tom waits, duh, meets hip hop, WHAT so good

    there's no album version of "shake it" on youtube, which might be the hottest song ever
    2. Ys, Joanna Newsom 2004
    yanno i'm not even sure i've listened to this album all the way through in one sitting yet,
    it's too good, too overwhelming & too epic to absorb all at once, but i saw her perform
    live with the atlanta symphony orchestra & she's a genius & i'm not using that word lightly,
    she's a damn miracle of a human.

    3. OH PERILOUS WORLD, Rasputina 2007
    melora never fails, never ever, to blow me away, & this album isn't my all-time favorite
    of hers but it's definitely the most cohesive with a brilliant narrative & over all theme.
    i hate the new guy in the band though & i hope he doesn't sing on the new album coming out
    next year.

    4. MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION, Animal Collective 2009
    a good one to end the decade on, goddam. after listening to it so many times i'm kind
    of over it, but the first song on the album is definitely way too sublime not to be the
    theme song playing when you get to heaven/reach enlightenment/drop too much acid.

    5. LIFT YOUR SKINNY FISTS LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN, Godspeed You Black Emperor! 2000
    man i used to listen to this every night falling asleep in highschool (it was pretty
    epic & intense falling asleep i'll say) but i'd be out by the end of the first cd.


    i guess i'll add more as they come to me. recommend! i often forget the release years of things.
